Oil on canvas. My painting is finally completed, for the most part I'm pretty satisfied with how it looks. This piece was a little challenging for me because I kept messing up on getting or using the right color. For example, it was difficult to get the right color for the shaded areas of the forest. I think I messed up because it looks a little too dark for the shadowing, but overall it looks pretty good all together.
I used mostly line, space, and value throughout this painting. Line is noticeable from the trees branches in the background. From the gaps between the trees and the grass created space. Value is evident from the foggy sky, using gray and going from dark to light gives the illusion that the trees are from a distance.
Now for my inspiration of this painting, I again chose Thomas Kinkade for my master artist. It was very helpful looking at how he paints grass that's either at a long distance or short. For my current artist, I chose Brooke Cormier. Her paintings are very beautiful and unique, she does many landscape paintings but she also paints a lot of food. Looking through her paintings helped me with painting the trees and branches on my piece, seeing how she used different shades.
