Oil paint on canvas 12" by 16". To me I would say the most complicated part of painting this painting was the clouds and the background. That was the most challenging for me, I kept painting over and over, messing up, and just trying to figure out the right shape and color. But I've managed to push through and do my best. Even though the clouds and reflection of them were hard, I had fun painting them. I never really painted clouds or a lake. Also, painting the little island of landscape was absolutely my favorite. I admit I'm not really proud of how the clouds turned out and the water, but I am happy about it also because it thought it would of looked worse if I'm being honest. When looking for photos to paint, I came across this image, at first I knew it would have been to hard to paint, but I knew an artist that always inspired me. A current artist, Layne Johnson, he is amazing at painting clouds. Every new post I see of his artwork, I'm speechless, its absolutely amazing! So I was thinking about him when I saw the image, I'm still working on getting better at clouds.
