12" by 16" oil on canvas. Living in the mountains gives me an opportunity to look around at the many different types of trees, leaves, and other plants. The day I took the photo, it was a definitely cold and it was late out. Painting the redwood trees allowed me to use many shades of green. Definitely a lot of cool colors rather then using warm colors. It was a little challenging to put many lines and texture into the painting but I managed to accomplish that.
